Microfiber is a man-made fiber, usually an 80% polyester and 20% nylon blend, 10 times thinner than silk and 100 times thinner than a human hair. To make a great quality cloth, the fiber has to go through a process called “splitting”.
This is the most important and the most delicate part in the making of a true microfiber. Improper treatment of the threads at this time will take away the microfiber’s remarkable properties to attract dust particles and to absorb greasy smudges.
A fiber that has not been split is only technically a microfiber because of its small size. But it has none of the properties that make a superior cleaning cloth. Only few microfiber cloths on the market today are true microfiber.
Each fiber of a Photosilk has been split into 16 micro-filaments of 0.1 denier knitted tightly to produce an outstanding, high density microfiber that has a luxurious, soft and silky texture and that will safely clean and protect delicate items to your customers’ complete satisfaction.
Photosilk is a marvelous tool that cleans digital and regular cameras & lenses, sunglasses and eyeglasses, CDs and DVDs, LCD panels and computer screens, scanners, binoculars, microscopes. cellular phones, jewelry, collectibles, precious stones and much more.
Before wiping any fragile surface, remove dirt particles from the lens. Preferably, use white side of the cloth, dry or with a liquid. Photosilk should be hand washed in warm water with a gentle soap. Softeners, heavy detergents and bleaches should be avoided. Do not iron or dry at high temperature.
